Season so Far Halfway through the season the
Bulls have played 8 games with 4 wins and 4 losses and currently sit 5th
in the competition. With a majority of the team in its first year of colt’s
rugby they have been very competitive with some excellent wins. It has also
been encouraging to see the performances against the older teams in the
competition. Injuries are starting to test the depth of the squad with the team
narrowed from 26 to 20. However the fight and the spirit still remains and the
team is even more determined to finish the season strong and challenge the top 4.

The 2010 Bull sharks squad was made up of a great bunch of young men. The boy’s positive attitude made the coaching by Grant Devlin and Val Waldron an easy and enjoyable job. Fitness coach Ria Tasi Cordtz got the best out of the team and physio David Candy made a great job of tending to their injuries. Thanks also to Will Henry for helping with the forwards at the business end of the season. Through hard work, dedication and a strong desire to win, we had a great season beating all opposition teams at least once. Winning the Premier Colts banner in a thrilling final was a great achievement.
A special thanks also to our sponsor, Bryan Morris of Mitchells Tavern, and to the many parents and supporters who travelled from out of town to loyally support us.

The Bull Sharks of 2009 were a great group of young rugby players and a team that everyone who was involved with it is very proud of they gave it all during the season. They made the top 4 playoffs and were third qualifier just behind the Dunedin Makos. Dunedin was the only club this year to have two teams in the Colts playoffs. Thanks must go to our Coach’s, Manager, Physiotherapist and Fitness Trainer for all the work they did during the season.
2008 Season
Results aside, the 2008 Bull Sharks were a very positive bunch!
An below average win-loss record failed to dampen their burgeoning team spirit and enjoyment of each others company, whether they were at Shark Park or socialising elsewhere in Dunedin!
In a squad dominated by forwards (we had 15 compared to 6 genuine backs) we struggled to find our rhythm this season.
On the field our results were disappointing without lacking in endeavour. The Bulls had the winning of several close games that slipped away from us and we finished the season with jus 4 wins and 7 losses scoring 138 points while conceding 210.
Injuries and a lack for staring backs did not enable us to settle on the combinations necessary to be competitive but even the victorious Southern Ravens were pushed hard by us at times.
I wish to thank Noel Jenkins my co-coach who came into the mix early in the season and provided invaluable assistance with the backline. Jamie Barnham was a most reliable Physio who has a wonderful attitude. Also many Thanks to Rangi (Paul) Hickey who put in few cameo appearances on the management front. Also thanks to Kevin Waldron and the Makos set up who providing constant player support and really cementing great brotherhood between the two Prem colts sides .
Stand-out players for the year include Simon Luke, Tomasi Tulia, Albert Hanson, Willie Little, Sean Roughan and the pocket rocket Dan Cairns
