 – the season is well underway and the club is looking good.We have six teams entered in the competition (not including the Junior Club). This is the most of any club in Dunedin.
- we have a new premier Coach in place,Elgan O’Donnell, and with 3 from 3 at the time of writing he is off to a great start.Eighteen successive victories for the Prems with three of the hardest teams in the competition under their belt this season.
- Prem 2’s have had a mixed start to the season.Owen Booth,Josh Jeffreys,Greg Cooney and Sam Cooper are playing/coaching this team with the assistance of the wise old John Crowley as manager.Horny is over seeing them on a Saturday and keeping the referees honest.
- 2B Town are again a strong unit (according to them) but will doubtless miss the services of Father Gerry (a wing and a prayer).
- Mako’s again coached by Kevin Waldron with strong support from Steve Mowatt ,Paddy Bleach and others.Watch this team this year.
- The other two Colts sides will do well with Sam Paul working with Greg O’Brien and Dave Conrad with Ross O’Connell. They will do well in spite of the influence of the last three named coaches.
- Interested out of town supporters who seem to think those of us watching the game on a Saturday have nothing to do but reply to their texts for score updates can now go to the ODT online site and get a full video report of the Prem game from Dwyer within an hour of the game finishing.
I will make this a regular up date on what is happening around the club.
Jack O’Dea.

First five-eighth Greg Dyer kicked a penalty goal four minutes from the end to give Dunedin a narrow 34-33 win against Southern at Kettle Park.

The cool headed Dyer kicked five goals and scored 19 points and played a key role in Dunedin’s win.

The other key player was hooker Sam Anderson-Heather, who led his team from the front and scored a decisive first half try.

Dunedin and Kaikorai remain unbeaten and lead the competition with 15 points.

Dunedin 34 (Rowan McKenzie, Greg Dyer, Richard Thompson, Sam Anderson-Heather tries; Dyer con, 4 pen),      Southern 33 (Nathan Cargo, Tei Walden, Hanipale Galo,      Dan Baxter, Byron Dodge tries; Ben Patston con, 2 pen).      Halftime: Southern 13-8.
