We want you to join us for serious rugby and fun at Shark Park for the 2009 rugby season. Play your footy hard, meet plenty of new friends and become part of a Club that is all about creating the right environment for you to develop and really enjoy every aspect of your rugby.
Teams
We will field at least six sides; Premier, Premier 2, Senior, Two Premier Colts and a Division 2 Colts side.We cater for all ages and abilities. Senior – 1 weekly training run, all ages, heaps fun.
Facilities
The Club complex is situated at Kettle Park, which is halfway between the St Clair and St Kilda beaches and includes four playing fields, two of which are floodlit for training.
The Club Lounge and social area offer a tremendous setting for socialising after a game and you will very quickly feel a part of the Dunedin rugby community.
Club subscriptions are $120 per player (full playing kit supplied and plenty more).
Transport
Transport is available for all playing in the Club to attend training and assistance is given regarding attending matches, irrespective of where you live in Dunedin; two club vans are available from the outset and travel City College(5.35pm)->Dundas Dairy->Commerce Building->Cumberland College.
2008 Season Highlights
Premiers had a great season, won 7 of the 8 trophies contested, narrowly lost club final. Recent Highlanders -Callum Bruce, Jason McDonald, Chris King, Craig Newby, Keith Cameron and Daniel Bowden. Prem 2′s, narrow losers in the final to promoted Taieri, won previous 4 championships. Fielded 3 very competitive Colts sides – Makos unbeaten round-robin, lost their Premier Colts semis, Bulls Premier Colts always competitive. 2B Town Carpet Shark Seniors big squad, top blokes, added heaps.
Club open fire and aftermatches always a highlight, prizegiving smoko and court sessions not for the faint hearted! New social affiliation with Physed Netball Club a success and looking to build on this.
